GOOD NUTRITION SLOWS AGING

Good nutrition is detrimental to slowing down the aging process.  This includes outward signs of aging such as wrinkles and inner signs such as hardening of the arteries.

When the body receives nutrients and antioxidants through food sources, the nutrition is at its highest value, especially organic foods.  Good nutrition from fresh, live food like cucumbers, kale, spinach, pomegranate, watermelon and many other fruits and vegetables provide essential vitamins like A,E,C, and D.  These vitamins offer anti-aging properties as well as nourish the organs.  And while they can be consumed via capsule, consuming them in the most natural form is most beneficial.

WHY BMI IS VIP

BMI, short for Body Mass Index is an important factor in healthy body weight. It is a measurement used by the National Institutes of Health to define statistics in obesity.

You should be aware of your BMI because your weight alone does not paint the full picture.  BMI can be calculated by your weight in pounds divided by height in inches divided by height in inches multiplied by 703.  As an example [148 lbs/63 inches/63 inches]x 703 = 26.21 BMI

Knowing your BMI is important because your weight alone doesn’t tell the whole story. If your BMI is too high, you may be at an increased risk for many chronic health problems. These include high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, and osteoarthritis. It may also raise your risk for endometrial, breast, prostate, and colon cancers. Read more…

COLON CLEANSE MAY KICKSTART YOUR HEALTH

Have you been feeling sluggish or ran down; suffering unusual weight gain, backache, bad breath or inability to concentrate.  It could be due to the fact that your digestive system is overburdened.  In our hustle, bustle lives and the consumption of so many unhealthy grab and go foods, our organs can quickly become overworked and stressed. The colon is one of the mose important organs of our digestive system.  With cancer of the colon and rectum on the rise, it is worth giving the colon the attention it deserves.  The National Institute of Cancer recently estimated that more that 39,000 would die or colon or rectal cancer in 2011 alone.

So, what exactly is the colon?  The colon, otherwise referred to as the large intestine, rectum and anus, that is approximately 5 feet long and 2.5 inches in diameter.

The colon is responsible for absorbing needed minerals and aiding in proper elimination.  A person with  optimal colon health generally has up to three bowel movements per day.  However, this is not experienced by the average American who lives on the standard American diet.

So think about it, if the body is not ridding itself of digested food on a routine basis then it has no choice but to sit in the intestines, causing buildup on the intestinal walls and growing harmful bacteria.  If you are not experiencing this, then a colon cleanse may be just what your body needs for a healthy kickstart.

There are many options for colon cleanse available.  There is the high colonic irrigation method whereas you go to a colon therapy facility and the large intestine is literally flushed with water to clean out digestive waste.  This also clears the intestinal walls which are responsible for absorbing important nutrients into the body.  Another option is the old fashioned enema.  This can be administered professionally or at home.  Enemas come prepackaged and consist of a sodium phosphate solution or mild laxative.  If you prefer at-home methods, a colon flush is available that works really well.  Your local health food store may have it or you can purchase if you click here.

The most important thing is to choose the method that best suits your lifestyle.  Statistics show that good colon health is important for your overall well-being.

While poor eating and exercise habits directly affect our outward appearance, it goes a lot deeper than that. Some bad habits may take years to be noticed in our body or emotional well- being but nevertheless, it still affects everyone.

Generally, your daily food intake should consist primarily of fresh fruits and vegetables, a few servings of quality protein and whole grains.  The sugary delicious foods are also ok, as long as they are not substituted as a nutritional mainstay.  Desserts and food splurges should be a once in a while indulgence to maintain good health.

BATHROOM MEDICINE CABINET DO YOU HAVE ONE DO YOU NEED ONE

Everyone loves a good bathroom cabinet. There are so many things that they are good for: holding linen, toiletries, and other fanciful things. Bathroom cabinets can be attached to the wall or free standing on the floor. Sometimes, they have special purposes; sometimes, they are more a general use cabinet. For instance, a bathroom medicine cabinet is in almost every bathroom made since the 70s.

A good bathroom medicine cabinet is indispensable. The main priority of a bathroom medicine cabinet is to hold medicine behind the mirror. This keeps the medicine safe from moisture and children, but easily accessible when needed. These are great in any bathroom. I know some guest bathrooms that have a medicine cabinet full of guest toiletries. This gave me a welcomed feeling and made the home I was visiting all that more comfortable. Read more…
